Michael Deckman
Greetings! I am originally from Connecticut. I moved to Wisconsin with my family in 2017 to pastor a local church. I served in the pastoral ministry for over 10 years as an ordained minister. I earned my undergraduate degree at Grace Christian University and both my Master of Divinity and Doctorate degrees at Bethel Seminary/University in St. Paul, MN. I am also a United States Army veteran having served overseas in Europe and in support of Operation Iraq Freedom. My wife, two teenagers, and I live out in the country in Fall Creek. I enjoy hunting, fishing, reading, and the outdoors.
I am excited about this new season of life. As the new Housing and Financial Stability Advocate in Eau Claire, I am eager to begin serving the greater community and those in need. Before transitioning to St. Lawrence Community Services, I worked part-time at the Eau Claire Community Haven House. That amazing experience allowed many relationships to be built and nurtured. I am blessed to be in this position to do the work I am called to. I look forward to working alongside my colleagues and other agencies to provide loving care, kindness, and support.
