Jennifer Whipps
I am honored to join the Catholic Charities team at The Good Shepherd Shelter in Wausau. I am a lifelong resident of Marathon County, where I spent my adolescent years attending Newman Catholic Schools. Serving others has been a passion of mine since childhood. I am a committed advocate for marginalized people in my community and throughout the world. As a Mother and Grandmother, I strive to bring light to dark places, so that all people can walk with hope and faith in their endeavors.
In my career I have worked for several non-profits in our area. The bulk of my professional experience has been serving children and families through Early Childhood Education. Recently I became a Certified Recovery Coach, which allowed me to work with substance use disorders through community and jail outreach. This is where I found the connection with The Good Shepherd Shelter.
In my free time, I work as an Independent Magnesium-Wellness Consultant, which allows me to meet new people and make connections. My family and I utilize our local YMCA through youth sports and group exercise. We enjoy all seasons in Wisconsin; there is serenity in the open air of the Northwoods, which I seemingly cannot live without.
I looked forward to growing with colleagues and guests, so that we may work to create a positive impact in our world.
