I have the pleasure of working with an exceptional team in the Disabilities Services Program at Catholic Charities Driftless Pass School. My position as School Coordinator has allowed me to pursue my leadership goals as an educator. I have taught in many educational settings over the past 25 years, including an overseas teaching experience in Doha, Qatar and Los Banos, Philippines, Chileda Inc. in La Crosse, Westby School District and an alternative school setting, Coulee Connections in La Crosse. Although I have both a Regular Education and Special Education teaching license, I have been drawn to the Special Education realm where there is such a need to help families and individuals grow and pursue their highest potential. The behavioral management component and healing process for trauma students in this vocation has been a rewarding and valuable learning journey for me. I believe our program’s strength is our compassion, individualized programming and accepting individuals for who they are to promote independence and growth within a nurturing environment.
My husband, Jon and I and our two daughters, Emma and Eva, live on a 150 acre farm in Coon Valley where we have a herd of Grass Fed Beef. We also create pottery in a converted milk house on the farm. Hunting, gardening, fencing, hiking, trapping, bailing hay, growing pumpkins, photography and planting trees, are a few of the things we enjoy doing. We love raising our Dachshunds as well and taking them for walks and runs in the fields. Conservation of our land and stream, a strong work ethic, and treating all people and animals with respect are our priorities and values we are passing down to our daughters.
