Melissa Bowe
I have been with Catholic Charities since 2003 when I was hired as an Adoption and Pregnancy Support Social Worker in Eau Claire. Prior to coming to Catholic Charities I worked with homeless families for over 9 years. In 2005, I became the Adoption Director. Currently, I oversee the Family Services Program which includes the Pregnancy Support and Adoption Program, as well as the Wisconsin Adoption and Permanency Support Program. I have my Master’s Degree in Guidance and Counseling with an undergraduate degree in Psychology and Sociology. I hold a Wisconsin Advanced Practice Social Worker License. Currently, I am on Children, Family and Youth Services Committee for CCUSA, as well as the Adoption Steering Committee.
Outside of my professional life, I volunteer with several different organizations and am passionate about sports. Typically you can find me outdoors enjoying all that Wisconsin has to offer. I have two daughters, Madeleine and Elizabeth who currently are in college but still keep me very busy. I have had the privilege of working with extremely talented professionals in the adoption world. I also have enjoyed helping families through the adoption process. It has been a tremendous privilege in getting to know birth and adoptive families, and for them to allow me to assist them in their adoption journey. With the Wisconsin Adoption and Permanency Support Program I am able to continue to support all members of the triad after the adoption is completed. Adoption is ever-changing and I have enjoyed being a part of those changes over the year.
