The Immigration Services Program of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of La Crosse carries out the Christian mission to welcome the stranger and comfort the afflicted by providing immigrants in the Diocese with legal immigration services.
Catholic Charities provides legal assistance to individuals who are eligible to apply for immigration benefits. The focus of the program is family and/or humanitarian based immigration services. Services include personal consultation, application assistance and legal representation for clients. Typical services include assistance in the following areas:
- Petition for alien relatives
- Adjustment of status
- Consular processes
- Naturalization
- Visa renewals
- Fiancé visas
- Applications for Victims of Crimes - U Visa
- Applications for Victims of Domestic Violence - VAWA
- Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals - DACA
- Certificate of Citizenship
- Replacement cards
- Removal of conditions residence
Accreditation
The Immigration Services Program is recognized by the United States Board of Immigration Appeals. Attorneys and Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) Accredited Representatives are authorized to provide legal counsel to immigrants on their eligibility for immigration benefits under current immigration law.
