As we enter the sacred season of Lent, we are invited into a time of prayer, sacrifice, and renewal—a journey that leads us from the shadows of Good Friday to the radiant hope of Easter morning. Lent calls us to pause, reflect, and open our hearts more fully to what God is asking of us.
Yet for many of our neighbors, this season is not one of quiet reflection, but of deep uncertainty. Families are struggling to keep a roof over their heads as housing costs continue to rise. Parents are facing impossible choices between paying bills and buying groceries. Some of our brothers and sisters have no safe place to sleep at night and no table to gather around. Many are ostracized and ignored because of differing abilities and backgrounds, making it difficult to simply exist in a safe and supportive environment.
These burdens can feel overwhelming, but even in these moments, we are reminded that Christ meets us in the darkness and brings light where it is needed most.
At Catholic Charities, our mission is to walk alongside individuals and families during their most difficult moments and and to support them in meaningful ways.
