Bishop William Patrick Callahan and Catholic Charities invite you to the 9th Annual Lenten Luncheon from 11:30 am to 1 pm on Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church (611 Stark St.) in Wausau. Gourmet soup, salad and bread will be served. We will also be honoring our “In My Name” Award Recipient.
In My Name Nomination Form.
For the last eight years we have presented the In My Name Award to an individual or organization within the diocese to recognize their work in Christian Charity. The award is based on Jesus’ words to his disciples, “Whoever gives another even a cup of water in my name shall not lose their reward” (cf. Mk 9:14).
We need your help in selecting our 2020 In My Name Award recipient. Your nominees will be presented to Bishop William Patrick Callahan and members of the Catholic Charities Board of Directors and staff for selection. Bishop Callahan will present this award to the recipient at our Annual Lenten Luncheon.
The cost of this event is $25 per person or a table of 8 can be reserved for $200. Corporate sponsorships are also available. If you would like to attend this wonderful event, please RSVP online by March 6 as seating is limited.
1:00 Blessing from Bishop Callahan
In My Name Award Recipient: TBD
The “In My Name” award recognizes both an individual and an organization who exemplify these words from the Gospel of Mark, “John said to him, ‘Teacher, we saw a man using your name to force demons out of people. But he wasn’t one of us, and we told him to stop.’ Jesus said to his disciples, Don’t stop him! No one who works miracles in my name will soon turn and say something bad about me. Anyone who isn’t against us is for us. And anyone who gives you a cup of water in my name, just because you belong to me, will surely be rewarded.” (Mark 9:38-41) We are grateful to those who serve others in the name of Christ, for in doing so, they are also serving the Lord.
