Catholic Charities Driftless Pass School is looking to fill the open position of Special Education Teacher. Driftless Pass School is a unique private school in La Crosse WI where we specialize in working with students with wide range of different abilities. Students that we support come from a variation of the surrounding area school districts and we are looking for another teacher to join us in supporting these students. The Special Education Teacher is responsible for the overall learning environment for an assigned student, this would include daily instruction in academics, managing challenging behaviors, curriculum development, and implementation of the following.

Some of the requirements include:
a) Wisconsin teaching license in cross categorical or emotional/behavioral disorders.
b) At least 3 years working in a school environment addressing needs of persons with disabilities.
c) Demonstrated leadership skills in the classroom to include directing classroom support specialists.
d) Knowledgeable of and competent with a variety of positive, proactive behavior management techniques.
e) Demonstrated knowledge of the special education process to include referral, evaluation, writing and following Individual Education Plans (IEP’s).

This position is full-time benefits eligible. Starting salary ranges from $33.280.00 to 43,264.00 and is calculated biased on your education and experience.
