As we begin our journey through the Lenten season with anticipation for the light and joy of Easter, we know that many of our neighbors find themselves in a place of darkness. As the effects of the pandemic still linger and the prices of everyday items rise, there are those in our community living in uncertain economic times. Many are worried about losing their apartment or home as they aren’t able to pay their rent or mortgage; some find themselves unable to put food on the table or clothes on their backs; and others have no home or table to call their own. Even on the darkest of days, we know that as Christians there is always hope because of the light of our Lord’s resurrection.

For over 150 years, Catholic Charities of the Diocese of La Crosse has served as a light on the darkest days for people in need throughout the 19 Wisconsin counties we serve. Through the generosity of friends like you, in 2022 we were able to provide thousands of our neighbors with financial counseling and assistance which helped keep them in their homes; extra food and clothing so that their family could make ends meet; and a warm place to sleep and a meal when they had no place to go. We were able to do this only because of your generosity. YOU allowed the light of the Lord to shine through!

This Lent we again ask for your partnership to help bring light to those in need who are facing dark and uncertain times within our community. Even with rising costs that have affected us, we are dedicated to making sure 100% of your donation goes directly to our neighbors most in need. Thank you for your continued generosity and God Bless!
