Giving Tuesday-Donate Your Contribution Amount Via Text to 608.709.0368

gtbannerCatholic Charities is participating in Giving Tuesday this year on November 29, which is a global day dedicated to giving. Last year, more than 45,000 organizations in 71 countries came together to celebrate Giving Tuesday. We invite you to join the movement and give on Tuesday, November 29 by texting your contribution amount to 608.709.0368! Our goal is to raise $5,000 to help our homeless guests in our communities like Sarah:

“I can’t sleep on the park bench no more”, was something Sarah expressed to Tristine. She had asked for help and asked for help, but no one would listen, until she found Tristine, a staff member at one of Catholic Charities’ Community Homeless Facilities. Sarah suffers with some mental health troubles and has struggled to find housing on her own. She went on foot for months trying to talk to people and find help. When it turned colder, Sarah spent all her money on hotels until she became homeless.

Through many phone calls together, Tristine and Sarah were able to find an apartment. With the help of staff and other formerly homeless guests, Sarah moved in. It has been one month and she is settling in well. Sarah expresses her heartfelt gratitude every time she sees Tristine. She said, “You listened and you helped. I will always be grateful that I don’t have to sleep on the park bench no more.”

This is just one story of how a life was changed through one of our Community Homeless Facilities, but there are still so many in our communities sleeping on park benches or underneath bridges. There are so many who need someone to stand up and help them make phone calls and connections; someone to offer a listening ear and a compassionate heart. Join in the movement and give the gift of love this holiday season!  Your gift will help us keep our homeless centers open so we can provide a place for our guests to sleep, shower, get a hot meal, but most importantly, your gift will provide dignity and hope to those in need.
